What was Hipsta365?

Hipsta365 was a mobile photography project using the iPhone app Hipstamatic to record a daily picture a day, creating a visual calendar for the year 2011.

The 'rules' were:

1. One picture a day, 365 days.

2. The picture must be taken using the 'shake to randomize' feature of Hipstamatic. What this does is completely take the look of the final picture out of my hands. I compose the image but I have no idea how it will look when 'developed' (color v. black & white, flares, dust, color shifts). What this simulates, in a way, is the expensive process of shooting old, potentially-expired films. You put it in the camera, cross your fingers & shoot.

(I DID disable some of the films & lenses from the randomize feature when that was made an option...)

Prints of any Hipsta365 pic are available upon request.
